Cold- ya really cold!

There is meaning to this word! It is so cold here, and there is so much snow ALREADY!!! Its eating our swing set! I never in all my life thought I would see so much snow! Really I love this place.... but this snow has to go!!! I will post a picture when it stops... that is if it ever does!
Taylor is doing great! Fully potty trained... FINALLY... and Brody just got moved over to a big boy bed!
We had both of our families here for Thanksgiving- a tradition we hope to keep! We had so much fun!!!!!! It was so nice to have everyone together!!!
As I am typing this... I keep looking outside to see if there if there is a Palm tree growing out of all these inches of snow.... no luck yet.

We want to go up.... but do we go East or West once we are up???

Confused eh'??? Us also! Time for us to plan a vaca!!!! We have two options- Norway or Bora Bora. Both are going to cost us an arm and a leg.... but we both of two of each right... we can spare one of each!!!

Bora Bora....

Norway....

We have been trying to decide this now for awhile.
Just can not seem to decide.
Comment us and let us know what you think or what you would do!!!

I can't think of a title.

Ya so I suppose then, I just shouldn't write anything huh? Well today was a good day- Taylor is doing better at being potty trained- catching on, one pee pee at a time! Loving living in Wisconsin. I just love it- can not find anything wrong with it so far... except for the fact that we have to leave in 3 years.
I set myself to a test awhile ago. To see how long I could go before I made a HUGE grocery trip. I have not been to the grocery store since the forth of July! I am trying to wind down our pantry and freezer to see just how long we can go with out a trip. Yes I have been to the store for bread, milk, chicken, ketchup and beer. But other than that... I am over always having a full freezer and full pantry. So far I am on 1 month. I am trying to make it til Sept. Think I can do it??? Let me know! Tomorrow night we will have Salmon, broccoli, and rice. When Nick is home is when I use the "good" food. When Nick is gone- I make the boys PB&J or tuna casserole or spaghetti- these are all thing that they love and I hate -minus the spaghetti-. I know I can do it... but damn it I am a hoarder and I see all these great deals in the fliers and its driving me nuts!!!!!! Wacko!!!!!!
Stay tuned to see if I can make it!!!!! Normally my fridge, freezer, and pantry are so packed full it looks like the above!!!!!

Our new ride

Well we did it. Purchased our first family vehicle!
Oh we just love it!
2007 Ford Expedition - with all the yummies! We went shopping for a silver
Explorer and came home with a red Expedition. Bigger is Better! :)

Our little old man

Check out our little old man---- isn't he cute. He is getting ready to turn 7 this summer. Oh Dewey- dewey, dewey, dewey... :)

Insant Duck Tape

Yesterday we spent the whole day and by the whole day- I mean literally the whole day at Circuit City in Chesapeake VA getting a DVD system installed in the Expedition. I advise everyone to never ever ever go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The installation guys know what they are doing- but everyone else- they are idiots! So much- that I even told them that.... and this is the kicker---- they agreed!!!??? Only reason we stayed- we drove 3 hours to get there for just that reason! Uhhh... can not wait to be back to civilization. After waiting for 6 hours we finally got our truck back- the kids love it! It was the quietest ride we have ever had with 2 kids! The wireless headphones are awesome as well--- *we don't have to hear it*!
On the up side- we got Brody's 9 month pictures taken (yes we are a little late) - that only took 10 minutes and then we went and grabbed a bite to eat- went back got the picture and left! It went so smooth- (someone was praying for us). I will post the picture on here as soon as they upload on the internet!

They are not just trying to close the point.... its almost all the beach here on the island- you will not be able to drive, walk, talk, or breath on these beaches!!!!!

Our Anti-drug

Ok if you have not seen the show Jon and Kate plus 8- you HAVE to! The run down; they have two six year olds and six two year olds.... well now they are actually 7 and 3... but its fun to say it the other way. This lady, Kate, acts so much like me, Amber, that it is not even funny! She is precise to the point, in charge, bossy, and can not stand messes. Jon on the other hand is just like Nick- laid back, takes one day at a time, and is there to calm Kate down all the time, which everyone knows that Nick does to me all the time! Anyways, my point being she has 8 kids and manages to have each one respect her to the highest level- finally got the boys potty trained by 3 1/2 (makes me have hope for having a 2 1/2 year old not potty trained)- she is just all around my hero! I look up to her, try her recipes, try her saving secrets..... I just love them all! Nick loves to watch the show and smile... he says "that would be awesome".... I think he is nuts! But he is right... he would do great with 6 little Taylors and 2 snotty 7 year old girls :) Oh by they way their names are Cara, Madelyn, Aaden, Joel, Collin, Hannah, Leah, and Alexis. My favorite is Aaden... he is the little professor! The father is Asian so of course that is dominate... so all the children are as well. I just love it!!!!! :)
Check out the show its on Monday nights 9 EST.

Home Sweet Home

Well we found out we are getting this house. We have our address and pictures of the inside. We can not wait. We have a big (huge) backyard with a 2 car garage, 3 bedrooms with a basement and a sliding glass door in the kitchen leading to a back deck... can you say 'Midwest home'. We are so excited. It will be nice to see white snow and green grass again! I already in my mind am placing things.... and it will be wonderful to have everything on ONE level not three! Also we will have to just walk up a couple stairs to be on the main level not 100 stairs!! - Oh did I mention that I was excited?? I can not wait to mow with out sand spurs, or shovel snow instead of shoveling sea weed out of our driveway! Ahhh... can't wait!

Nick and I having some fun

We don't go out often... but when we do- we like to have fun. Here is a picture of us at some friends house. We were busy playing cards... I said "Smile for the camera Nick".... I guess this is what you call a smile??? We are trying to spend time now with the friends we have here. Won't be long and everyone will be on their path to another part of the nation. We are going to WI, we have friends who are going to NJ, FL, PR, MD, DE,WA, ..... so we are trying to make the best of the time we have left here with our friends. Will not be long and we will have to make friends with a whole other group of people. We for sure are going to miss our wonderful baby sitter Christan. She is Brody's teacher at Munchkin Academy and she is WONDERFUL - we love her to death, but not as much as Taylor and Brody do! I really hope we can find someone that is just 1/2 as trusting as her in Wisconsin!!

Soon Come Jolly Mon

We are planning on moving to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin around the 3rd week in June. We have some things to plan out, throw out, give up, and toss- but in the mean time we are very excited about moving back to the mid-west. I will miss the sand and the island life I am sure. However we are so excited to get back closer to our family! So excited. I am a little concerned about work, I love to work- but I am trying to tell myself that my kids will not be little for long- so I need to take the time now to spend time with them. Nick is very excited about going to a new station and learning all about the Great Lakes area!

How we got here

There once was this man who joined the United States Coast Guard- his first tour sent him to a cutter in a small town in Iowa. This is where he met a woman, she worked at a Dr office where all the Coasties had to get physicals at. She also worked at the small little bar called the Tee Pee Lounge where all the Coasties would hang out. This man and this woman soon became friends and started spending a lot of time together. It didn't take long before they became best friends and accidentally fell in love. They soon got married, right before the Coast Guard moved them to small little island off the coast of North Carolina- Hatteras Island. Soon after moving there they had a little boy who they named Taylor. They loved their family so much they decided to have another little boy 2 years later- they named him Brody. Through out all this- they very much enjoyed their furry son, Dewey, who is a black lab. A year later they found out that they will be enjoying time with their family again soon, as they are going to be doing their third tour back in a small mid-western town of Wisconsin.
Stay tuned for the rest of their story!
