Do we look tan to you?

We can not wait to take the boys to meet the Flambeau Indians. When I was little I use to write to these Indians- and now I will have a chance to take my children to visit them! So excited!!!

Home Sweet Home

Well we found out we are getting this house. We have our address and pictures of the inside. We can not wait. We have a big (huge) backyard with a 2 car garage, 3 bedrooms with a basement and a sliding glass door in the kitchen leading to a back deck... can you say 'Midwest home'. We are so excited. It will be nice to see white snow and green grass again! I already in my mind am placing things.... and it will be wonderful to have everything on ONE level not three! Also we will have to just walk up a couple stairs to be on the main level not 100 stairs!! - Oh did I mention that I was excited?? I can not wait to mow with out sand spurs, or shovel snow instead of shoveling sea weed out of our driveway! Ahhh... can't wait!

Nick and I having some fun

We don't go out often... but when we do- we like to have fun. Here is a picture of us at some friends house. We were busy playing cards... I said "Smile for the camera Nick".... I guess this is what you call a smile??? We are trying to spend time now with the friends we have here. Won't be long and everyone will be on their path to another part of the nation. We are going to WI, we have friends who are going to NJ, FL, PR, MD, DE,WA, ..... so we are trying to make the best of the time we have left here with our friends. Will not be long and we will have to make friends with a whole other group of people. We for sure are going to miss our wonderful baby sitter Christan. She is Brody's teacher at Munchkin Academy and she is WONDERFUL - we love her to death, but not as much as Taylor and Brody do! I really hope we can find someone that is just 1/2 as trusting as her in Wisconsin!!

Soon Come Jolly Mon

We are planning on moving to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin around the 3rd week in June. We have some things to plan out, throw out, give up, and toss- but in the mean time we are very excited about moving back to the mid-west. I will miss the sand and the island life I am sure. However we are so excited to get back closer to our family! So excited. I am a little concerned about work, I love to work- but I am trying to tell myself that my kids will not be little for long- so I need to take the time now to spend time with them. Nick is very excited about going to a new station and learning all about the Great Lakes area!

How we got here

There once was this man who joined the United States Coast Guard- his first tour sent him to a cutter in a small town in Iowa. This is where he met a woman, she worked at a Dr office where all the Coasties had to get physicals at. She also worked at the small little bar called the Tee Pee Lounge where all the Coasties would hang out. This man and this woman soon became friends and started spending a lot of time together. It didn't take long before they became best friends and accidentally fell in love. They soon got married, right before the Coast Guard moved them to small little island off the coast of North Carolina- Hatteras Island. Soon after moving there they had a little boy who they named Taylor. They loved their family so much they decided to have another little boy 2 years later- they named him Brody. Through out all this- they very much enjoyed their furry son, Dewey, who is a black lab. A year later they found out that they will be enjoying time with their family again soon, as they are going to be doing their third tour back in a small mid-western town of Wisconsin.
Stay tuned for the rest of their story!
